Spaces...are you into classic films?  Strangers on a Train is something I would recommend to anyone (Hitchcock at it's finest).  You could always add The Rock or something like Predator/Robocop.  Classic 80s (90s forThe Rock) movies are always a blast.

Strangers on a Train didn't really age well, imo. Rear Window is great however.

Also, spaceypoo, watch In Bruges.

I love Strangers on a Train (as well as Rope), but Rear Window is on another level.  Suspicion would have been Hithcock's best if the studio (on par with Rear Window) if the studio didn't force Hitchcock to change the ending to a "feel good" ending as opposed to what it was supposed to be.

Also, In Bruges is a must watch.

I don't think I would like those. What's Strangers on a Train like?

Two dudes meet on a train.  They talk about people they don't want in their lives and the idea of criss-crossing murders to get away with the crime loosely comes up.   The main character thinks it is all talk, but the other dude thinks the deal is done.  Stuff happens and it is a good flick.  From the sounds of it, you may not be into older movies (which was made in 1950).

In Bruges may be more in line with what you like (which is all good).  If you do happen to like In Bruges, watch Seven Psychopaths as well.

Yeah, I don't think I really like old movies.  :embarrassed:

Anyone see Star Trek: Into Darkness yet?  I've been looking forward to this movie for months.

I saw Into Darkness this morning and I was fairly disappointed.  A lot of the minor things that bugged me about the last trek are in full force in this one.  The whole movie is geared to move from one plot point to another, and JJ has no regard for the scientific principles of the Star Trek, so the science is manipulated to fit the story. Yes I'm a trekkie, but seriously!?! One dude beams himself across several light years of space, but later on they can't beam people kilometers away? The movie is full of things not working onboard the Enterprise and the crew having to jump through hoops. Cumberbatch is good.  I'm happy this is JJ's last star trek. I'm hopeful his star wars won't be written by his buddies from Star Trek.

The Place Beyond the Pines
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1817273/
Mostly works.

The Master
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1560747/
Enjoyed even more upon second viewing.

God, I hated the Master.  Great acting but...meh.

Saw Iron Man 3 tonight.  I agree that the middle is a bit under-utilized.  It was a fun movie, though.

I saw it on a Friday night after a long week at work. It's a great movie to kick back and turn your brain off for.

I never watched Star Trek as a TV show. I enjoyed the first movie, and thought the latest one was even better. The opening scene showed great imagination, and I hope they touch on that more in the next couple of movies. Benedict Cumberbatch was amazing. It was weird to see him as someone other than Sherlock, but he absolutely pulled it off. I thought it was fun, though there were many plot holes and they tried to over dramatize a few scenes.

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Seven Psychopaths

Clever metafiction, but nowhere near as strong as In Bruges.

Life of Pi

 :star: :star: :star: :raccoon:

Some people said it was boring, but I didn't think so. It probably would have been more enjoyable as a book. But in the end I'm glad I watched it.

Zodiac (2007)

Like most Fincher films, it's great from start to finish, with a few digitally creative shots scattered throughout. A very detailed and true (to the book) telling of the unsolved Zodiac murders in SF in the 70's. Jake G gonna Jake G and Downey Jr gonna Downey Jr. And Ruffalo gonna Ruffalo.
