Watched "The Impossible". True story of a family in Thailand during the tsunami. I liked it because it was a true story but, weirdly, if it hadn't been I might not have liked it as much. And I find Naomi Watts to be attractive.

Watching it now.

Same with Funny People. Apatow likes to eff around emotionally with the audience a little too much

He's been doing that since Freaks & Geeks.  He wrote or came up with the story for six of the episodes.  Five of those episodes have that "rough ridin' around with the audience emotionally" quality more than most of the others.  That said, I love Freaks & Geeks and most Apatow movies.

Saw Iron Man 3 tonight.  I agree that the middle is a bit under-utilized.  It was a fun movie, though.

Saw it last night.  I don't usually watch superhero movies (didn't see the first two Iron Mans) or read comics so I didn't know what to expect, but I thought it was fun.  I liked it more than Avengers, which seemed to be one "WHOA THIS SUPERHERO IS FIGHTING THAT SUPERHERO NOW!" scene after another.

what are your thoughts on the movie, Jagged Edge?  pretty great if you ask me.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Ya, I just read a first hand account from a Delta team member about how they mumped that all up with the helicopters and so forth, or they would have snatched those fuckers out of there.

True story, the botched Iranian embassy mission was Delta Force's first mission after their creation, but ZERO of the eff up was theirs...rough ridin' navy helicopter ran into a C130 tanker plane in a sandstorm while hovering after it refueled.

Fun fact: Peter Coyote (D.A. John Krasny) was born Rachmil Pinchus Ben Mosha Cohon.

Halfway through The Master I thought it was amazing. At the end of it I thought, "welp, I'm glad I watched that solely because of Phillip Seymour Hoffman's and Joakim Phoenix's performances.

That's just about the opposite feeling I had of The Silver Lining Playbook. At the beginning/middle I was just enjoying the good acting. But when all was said and done, I thought it was a pretty good movie. The dialog was super weird though. It reminded me out "It's Always Sunny". Maybe that's just how they talk in Philly?
