The Wild Robot

Some very very excellent voice acting (if they gave Oscars for that Lupita would be a shoo-in IMO), and some ok voice acting.  Great visuals, music wasn't my cup of tea.

Yeah, it was pretty good. The Trailer for it was fantastic and it didn't quite live up to that hype.

Wicked - 3.5/7 - dunno, not for me and I enjoy musicals. my movie going companion thoroughly enjoyed it though.

Conclave - 5.5/7 - entertaining, well-acted, compelling story. best picture worthy? probably not. but still enjoyable nonetheless

Source Code (2011) was pretty ok. I like Jake Gyllenhaal.  But it should have ended about 10 minutes earlier with the freeze frame instead of adding tons of confusing elements at the very end that made no sense.

Spent today watching movies inspired by Snowpocalypse 2025.

The Hateful Eight - 6.5/7 - only Tarantino movie I hadn't seen. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Don't know why it took me so long to give it a shot. Probably because I hated Django Unchained and Westerns often bore me. This did not!

The Shining - 6.75/7 - another that I couldn't tell you why it took me this long to watch. The movie is referenced so often in so much other media that I pretty much knew what to expect the entire time and still managed to be entertained and on edge throughout it. Lives up to the hype IMO.

All in all it was a pretty fantastic way to spend a day stuck inside.

My father in-law just scrolls Netflix for anything that is a western.  So, we watched the Ridiculous Six over holiday break.  I had low expectations and it lived up to those expectations.

The Killer (2023) - 5/7. Michael Fassbender great obvs. enjoyed the first 20 minutes more than anything. worth a watch.

Blue Velvet - 2/7 I guess I don't "get" david lynch. I can hear you saying but mocat you have to use PED's! let me assure you, they did not help me find the wavelength needed to enjoy this other than a few confused lolz.

The Substance - a very good movie with an ending that reminded me why I enjoy going to movies
