If it were up to me, Wintz would be on a fan scholarship, full ride.

Interesting

If the guy from Spiderman wasn't in this trailer I would be certain that this wasn't real. Just terrible.  I lol'd when the lady was basically crying telling them other sports would die if the football players got paid.

I am pro college athletes getting paid AND most of the actors in that movie, but it just seems so goddamn heavy-handed.

that Mayor Pete movie on Amazon is something.  Chasten comes across as a likable human in a relationship with someone that has never experienced human emotion.

Agreed, but I feel like I have to watch it but will spend the entire hour and 45 minutes bitching about it.

I saw the Eternals last night.  It was fine.  I think the plot was kind of cool in the end but most of the movie consists of the heroes wandering aimlessly.

I was watching something where they said he basically quit trying after Diehard. I think they were joking but that's all I've heard about his career.

Kinda refreshing to see someone who was a big star be like, "IDGAF I'm just gonna cash checks."

Belfast: great flick. Fantastic acting. Compelling story. Has a certain JoJo Rabbit vibe without the hilarity. Will probably win Best Picture. 7/7

House of Gucci: couldn't decide what it wanted to be. Is it campy or is it serious? Lady Gaga was good in it I guess. Jared Leto's character was great. I had no prior knowledge of the story. Kind of fun if you like to see rich people do rich people things but dragged on for far too long. Shouldn't win anything. 4/7

Spoiler Alert (kind of)

Power of the Dog: feels like a classic Western for most of the movie and then the last ten or fifteen minutes come just completely out of nowhere. Benedict Cumberbatch is great. Todd from Breaking Bad is in it but looks like he ate another Todd from Breaking Bad. Fantastic score and cinematography. 6.5/7

Watched "Finch" this week.  Nice, easy watching movie that you don't need to put a lot of effort into.  But for science/engineering nerds it is endlessly infuriating.  One has to suspend, like, ALL the disbelief to make the narrative work.

But if you can get past all of the "this is something that could never happen, ever" thoughts and just kind of sit back and let it wash over you it's okay.  Filmed I believe exclusively in New Mexico it is filled with some pretty cool scenery.  Would be good to watch high...or if you are like 14 years old.
