Changeling 5/7

This movie ended up being a lot more than I had anticipated. It's 2+ hours so it was able to fit it all in. Beautiful cinematography. Angelina Jolie is the main character. She loses her son, LAPD finds him a few months later except it's not her son! Takes place in the 1920's.

i have little faith that it will turn out to be better than the original

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

A Quiet Place 2 - They should have called it 'A Quiet Place Too' because it was in a different place as the original but they still had to be quiet.  Ended very abruptly, I think the first one did too so maybe that's their thing.  I didn't care for the abrupt ending.  Although I'm a bit torn because I do like a tight 90 min movie, but I also like everything wrapped up with a bow on top at the end. Not as good as original but a nice little movie. This is about as scary a movie as my wife is willing to watch so we both thought it was pretty good.

The Founder - man, Ray Kroc was a complete dick.  I'm never eating at McDonald's again!!

The Many Saints of Newark - the bar is set pretty high for anything Sopranos related and this didn't quite clear it although I don't hate it as much as some people.  As a standalone movie it doesn't do enough but if they're using it to launch more content then it's a decent starting point.

i had really low expectations for saints of newark because the trailer looked like crap, and 13 year old tony doesn't really interest me. luckily the movie isn't really about tony at all and i thought it was really good.

*SPOILER ALERT*

is the prison ray liotta a figment of dickie's imagination?   :Wha:

Many saints was terrible. A good chunk of it was so bad I was laughing at it.  The parts that were supposed to be “for the fans” were so bad that I now buy in to theory that David chase did this movie just as a middle finger to fan-boys of the show.

I think anyone that likes the sopranos should watch it just to see how bad it is, but anyone that is not in to sopranos should only watch it if they like mob movies and would enjoy a bunch of tropes in a bad mob movie.

I was hoping to see Irishmen level enthusiasm out of KK when it dropped and figured that it had to be pretty bad when he was silent for so long.

Saw Free Guy last night, it was basic mindless entertainment.

Initially overlooked this review and now I have to know what is considered bonkers in the context of a MLP flick:
The new My Little Pony movie is bonkers.

Voyagers sucked. I still watched it despite bad reviews because I like space movies. I'd understand if you did the same.

I didn't know dune was a multi-part thing. I think I would have just waited for it all to be available.

Anyway it's fine and everything is good except the boring/simple plot. 4/7

I enjoyed Dune - reminds me of the book where they spend a lot of time world-building.  They did a good job integrating a lot of necessary exposition without it feeling like too much of a chore.

I just can't do sci fi crap and I hate it, because ever since I purchased HBO Max, I've forced myself to watch every shitty movie that comes out.
