Finally saw Black Panther on Friday, lol. It was aight.

Saw Uncut Gems and #myguy KG on Saturday. I had a hard time seeing Sandler as a dramatic actor, but the movie was good, and I'm happy with my guy although I'm guessing nearly all of his lines were improvised. Can we also talk about Julia Fox for a second, good lord. Was is EMAPE who coined the term "blessed white girl?" Fox retired that tag, it's all hers forever and ever.

Black panther—- I almost typed up about 5,000 words on how killmonger was the hero. Interested to know your take.

Uncut gems!—could you get past it with Sandler? I thought he was brilliant! Mike Francesca as the bookie was inspired. Julia Fox Instagram is a thing.

Franscesca was really good, wish he had a bigger part.

WARNING Black Panther spoilers ahead
Lol, probally don't need that, isn't the movie like 2.5 years old?
So, killmonger. Yes, essentially he was the hero in his intent. I think that's why they went so over the top with him being such a rough ridin' dickhead, including how adult killmonger was introduced. No, they shouldn't have hoarded the vibranium, and yes, he ultimately helped them to realize that they were wrong for doing so, it's why the UN scene at the end was necessary. However, him method of leadership would have eventually led to the ruin of civilization and almost certainly would have allowed vibranium to get into the hands of "colonizers," which of course would have lessened it's effect for all the black folks that killmonger wanted to help. I don't know crap about comic books so I'm sure people know the essence of what the sequel will be, but I don't. I'm guessing and hoping it centers on killmonger being in the city of the dead.

It's really hard for me to rate Uncut Gems as a movie because I view it more as an experience for everyone. But like KK, I have a really hard time imagining myself watching it again. Similar to Requiem for a Dream, I suppose.

I really don’t like superhero movies in general and never read comics other than a few x-men growing up so I mostly avoid it but I thought black panther had the potential to be really good and as the genre goes was much better than most of them.

I did like into the spider verse tho for similar reasons because it mostly wast a “super hero” movie in the traditional sense.

Knives Out - Wife and I both very much enjoyed.

Midway - I liked it. I like history and war movies and taught American History for a long time so I enjoy new depictions of events I've studied.  I think my wife only kind of liked it but pretended to like it a lot for me.

I need a light hearted romantic comedy. What's the 2019 Notting Hill? The 2019 Fifty First Dates?

Uncut Gems: Probably best for degenerate gamblers/huge pot heads from the Northeast. Probably anyone else won’t appreciate the waste of time.

Ford v. Ferrari was entertaining. Christian Bale was really good.

I thought Marriage Story was fantastic and maybe even deserved to win Best Picture. I found myself hating ScarJo through most of it. Was I supposed to or is that just my subconscious KSUW coming through?

Robocop-- it owns.  I really like how the guy gets wasted by the robot in the corporate board room and its like, now is my chance to re-position myself for that big promotion!

I also like the toxic waste guy and the death finale in general.

I knew of robocop as a kid, had friends with the toys, and am pretty sure I watched it.  I was amazed how violent it was when I rewatched a couple of years ago.

I still think of robocop being extremely violent and Murphy getting killed at the start was like the most graphic and violent thing grade school me could ever imagine. Still a pretty great movie.

Starship troopers is on a whole different level of awesome though.
