I gather, its a mis-adaptation from the book, but the unreliable narrative portion of the movie felt really dishonest to me. Its one thing to have mis-direction. Its another to have actual scenes showing something, then to later in the movie say "Naaaaa, that crap didn't happen" On top of that I thought the writing and really even the acting for that matter was terrible.Gone Girl was /2

Or at least that's my recollection.

Or at least that's my recollection.I thought it was obvious that they were flashes of what the investigator thought had happened while she was reading the journal....but I have read the book, so I really don't know how it came across to someone who hadn't read the book.
