Deep Web.

Documentary about Silk Road and its founder, along with DPR.

It was very good.

i preferred the original version with sandra bullock.  it was called "the net" and came out in the mid-90's.
great movie- science, internet, action, it had it all.  and a great movie score to boot.

I remember loving the net when it came out. Now it sits with other movies as a time capsule to the limitation of technology. My favorite "technological time capsule" is The Lawnmower Man. They stopped him from spreading into the internet by pulling the telephone cord, haha because that used to be how the internet worked! WOW!

"the net" is actually an abbreviation for "the internet" which is what the movie is about.
the movie explores how the internet ("the net") can be used for evil purposes while at the same time simplifying our everyday lives.  there's even one scene where the protagonist, angela bennett, orders a pizza from a local pizza parlor over the internet.  if you told me in 1995 that i would be ordering a pizza on the internet, i would have looked at you like you were crazy.  i guess it's just another example of life imitating art, because i rarely call a pizza joint anymore if i'm in the mood for a pie, much more likely a scenario is one where i log into my pizza places's webpage and just  order one virtually.  it's pretty amazing to think about.

How do you tell them what toppings you want??? I don't think there is an emoji for every possible pizza topping.

yep and i bet you that they didn't order pizza via emoji in the movie, dark web.  did they?  they didn't order that way on "the net" so i doubt they did on the dark web (the net rip off movie).

One common misconception about the dark web and the deep web is that these two terms are interchangeable. This is simply not true.

Watched  A Walk in the Woods with Robert Redford and Nick Nolte.  Best line is where Nolte tells a gal at the laundromat he was a "pantyologist".

Transcendence.

This movie certainly transcended from merely bad to awful piece of crap.  Johnny Depp's "acting" was completely lifeless....his character was the same in human form as it was in computer form.  Also WTF was up with his accent?  One scene he's a normal American dude and the next scene he's coming to you from jolly old England.  And that's when I could actually understand him, most of his lines were mumbled.  Also a blatant Lawnmower Man ripoff.
