Renting "Cinderella" tonight for family movie night.  Pretty pumped.

I was dragged to it by the lady and I was pleasantly surprised. It is a solid entry in the Disney movie canon.

Yeah, it took some pleading, but I finally convinced my kids and wife to watch it with me tonight.

You won't be disappointed

i have it on good authority that Rick LOVES musicals and is an avid member (and quite a talented one i might add) of Manhattan's community theater program.

I AM rough ridin' WATCHING CINDERELLA RIGHT NOW!!!

About 3/4th the way through.  Easily better than Frozen, and is trouncing Tangled as well.  Now, this is a live mother rough ridin' action movie, not cartoons, so you better get that through your rough ridin' heads right now!

STAY TUNED FOR MY FINAL REVIEW....

The British lady who plays the step mother is very good at being mean.  She is probably the best (worst?) evil step mother in modern film.

My exact remarks after viewing "Frozen" for the first time:  "Well, it's no Tangled, but it was fine."  Tangled is just a superior film in every way, and it's really not close.

Now for Cinderella.  Pretty good.  I enjoyed it and I thought the visuals and acting were great.  Funny, sweet, emotional at times, just a good family friendly movie.  4 year old son started playing with trucks after about 30 minutes after asking "when is something going to happen?" but he came around once the fairy god-mother showed up.  It did dive a little deeper into the characters back stories and motivations, which I appreciated, but the kids would have liked a little more action.

As for Pete's assertion that it "trounced" Tangled, well, lol no.  Cinderella can't hold Tangled's jock which is a weird way of putting it I know but I'm going to go with it anyway.

i realize this step mom wasnt quite married yet so you probably left her out but i think for the sake of argument that shes the best evil step mother in modern film.

I think what my friend Mitch is trying to say is that true love is blind.

Went and saw Black Mass last night. I really enjoyed it. It focuses a lot on Bulger's motivation, paranoia, and cruelty, so it isn't necessarily for people who are squeamish or expecting a lot of action. Depp should definitely expect some nominations come award season.

i preferred the original version with sandra bullock.  it was called "the net" and came out in the mid-90's.
great movie- science, internet, action, it had it all.  and a great movie score to boot.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

I remember loving the net when it came out. Now it sits with other movies as a time capsule to the limitation of technology. My favorite "technological time capsule" is The Lawnmower Man. They stopped him from spreading into the internet by pulling the telephone cord, haha because that used to be how the internet worked! WOW!
