3 years probation for Level 2 violations (all Level 1's were downgraded, LOFL).

Oklahoma State got a postseason ban for a Level 1 violation.

Wait, they have to vacate the Final Four from that year and the wins what's his name played in.

Kinda sucks, but Slick Billy skates. And I thought for sure that Kurtis Towsend would end up taking the fall.

Vacating past wins is so LOL.  Regardless of the school, sport, coach, etc.

The only consolation to come out of this.
I knew Billy would get off scot-free for his crimes.

Gosh, oscar Weber and John Currie seem like fools for over policing basketball recruiting if this is the only punishment one gets for this sort of thing.

They still penalize people, look at OSU. They just don't hammer the blue bloods.

No one should be more upset than Jamar, IMO.

Meanwhile, Self landed a top 50 recruit on the same day they announced the punishment.

Someone check on Cleveland State.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

You know…for as much as every poster not named wacky or stunted just crapped all over oscar Weber, the fact is he’s the only coach in a very long time - maybe ever - to have swept the Kansas jayhawks, which according to the record books is precisely what he did in the year of our Lord Two Thousand and Eighteen.

How many Brinks trucks would we have to park on his lawn before he would consider coming back?

not gE'ing here, do we get to add W's in the record book for these games or do they just fall off of the official season results?

That’s a good point, I’m sure the opposing team doesn’t get to change the L to a W, probably just get to erase the L. So the more accurate thing to say — which still puts oscar in rarified air — is that he played ku 3 times that season and was undefeated.

There have been 13 final fours vacated in NCAA history and current/former KU coaches are responsible for 30% of them: Calipari (x2), Brown, Self.

Brown also landed all three of the schools where he served as the head coach on probation - a pretty remarkable feat.

Maybe the goEMAW research team can figure out if another coach has matched Brown's trifecta...

As they say, if something's worth doing, it's worth doing well.

Sampson had NCAA violations at OU then got the show cause at Indiana. So only 2 locations, but show cause is worse.

What are the terms of their probation? Meaning what kind of violations would make them probation violators.

I think the only violation that can land you with consequences is not making enough money.
