As someone who isn't religious, I find the religious component to maga equally interesting as frustrating.  There is just so much Trump's Advocate to play here.

Growing up in the church any time the thought/idea of an anti-Christ just seemed so, so far fetched and unbelievable. Whether you want to believe it or not just this idea of someone essentially convincing significant portions of the population into believing in anything that was opposite of what the bible/Jesus said just seemed ludicrous. At that time I think the closest to the feeling I had to what I do now is televangelist and a few people who were super Reagan lovers but it just seemed fringy, practically a small and frankly ignorable part of it all.

Now, well now with Trump and everything around that (not saying he is the anti-Christ or that is even a thing) it has thoroughly convinced me that if such a concept were to be true it is absolutely possible. Stuff like that bible above, or him being so revered by religious people who are only really attaching themselves to him cause he pays the most lip serving part of being religious to them and he's the best chance of furthering whatever their agenda is frankly terrifying if you are a true believer.

The way I look at it right now if Jesus himself was here he would be reviled by most "Christians" and Trump would be welcomed into their homes with open arms. It's disgusting how far from Jesus' teachings they have become if only to try and stop things like abortion or be so unaccepting of gay or transgendered people. All people I am pretty sure Jesus would be forgiving of or at least trying to sit at their table and be compassionate with.
