Is it wrong of me to kind of hope that these morons all come down with the virus?
Yes, because they aren’t going to keep the virus to themselves once they get it.
also, it's pretty shitty to get it and will probably kill some of them
Have you already had it?
It's really not that bad... A little different than the regular flu, but barely any worse if you aren't 70+ &/or very sickly/immunodeficient to begin with.
I compared what I had shortly after returning home from Miami after attending the super bowl to a buddy of mine's actual diagnosis and its being made out to be something its not.
You have no idea if you had it. You've gone from "I think I maybe had it back in..." to "I definitely had it, and it's pud." GMAFB. You have no rough ridin' idea. Even those who are deemed symptomatic enough to warrant a test have only come back positive less than 20% of the time.
While we're throwing anecdotes out there, I know a 30 year old who actually was confirmed positive and described it as two+ weeks of hell. Texted me on multiple occasions telling me she wanted the sweet release of death. That was enough for me to know I didn't want to come down with it.
You're right in that I can't confirm 100% that I've had it as I got what I had before it was advertised... however, I was sick as hell and the docs couldn't pinpoint what I had at the time. Luckily for me, I'm healthy enough to whip it but unfortunately for all of you, I'm still here mucking up the blog.
8man's meme is pretty accurate... getting it sucks (assuming thats what I had), but so does the old school flu. I don't take flu shots for the same reason crusty does... I don't want to get the flu either.
