This person had a mental health decline that pre-dated Trumps election. She had to quit practicing medicine over 5 years ago as schizophrenia-like tendencies grew. At some point in the last few years, she got sucked into the QAnon wormhole, finding belonging in a warped world. Her story is tragic. I watched the video posted on Twitter by @Cleavon_MD climb to over 2M views, with the misleading statement, "Meet Dr. Tammy Towers Parry a Family Medicine Doctor in Seattle, WA" as if she were an ordinary physician practicing medicine on a Monday and storming the capitol on a Wednesday. I then watched Twitter users confidently post outdated and false information over and over again. I also saw a digital "mob" tear her down on Twitter, with a level of vitriol that paralleled the people in MAGA mob. Mental health issues need more attention. I was pulled into Tammy's story due to connections I have with a member of her extended family. What I saw unfold on Twitter was ugly, unhelpful, and sad. Tammy's mental health status doesn't excuse her actions, but it helps explain them.

I knew Tammy before she became a Dr. Although I agree with many of your statements related to mental health, I don't agree with your approach to admonish other medical professionals reporting her and calling her out. She did present herself as an ordinary physician practicing medicine. As a person who knew her very well many years ago, it was brought to my attention by mutual acquaintances that she was a Qanon follower. Twitter posts from this past summer showed she traveled throughout the country reaching out as "Dr. Tammy" and providing opinions (as a board certified doctor and surgeon) regarding COVID being a hoax and masks are dangerous to name a few. It was not obvious to most people that she was diagnosed with a mental health issue and (many) people took her at her word. Her refusal to initially wear a mask on an Alaska flight got her a police escort and she has been banned from that airline. During that event, she qualified herself (again) as a board certified doctor and surgeon. If you look at her patient comments, some appear to have been posted recently. I don't blame the doctors and nurses sounding the alarms. I hope those still close to her can get her the help she needs. It is unfortunate that she didn't get that help before capturing herself on the steps of the capitol and then admitting to her part in the siege.

I knew about this, I saw Milk (2008).

I saw Milk and either forgot or didn't connect it to the twinkie defense until many years later when I read Season of the Witch. San Francisco was WILD from the 60's to the 80's. Jim Jones was also SF based and was pretty tight with Harvey Milk! (I also don't remember if that was part of the movie)
