I think lots of magas absolutely believe this crazy crap at first but then it gets proven to be wrong as hell and then they just scream about owning the libs to feel less stupid

Owning libs is literally the only thing that matters. Provides them some level of personal power they otherwise don't have in their life. They are willing to defy anything/everything else to get that. Family, God, the political beliefs they thought they actually held, etc. They will go back on everything. Nothing has more value than owning libs. This is the reason Rush was as popular as he was. No matter how bad their life may be, at least they aren't some dumb lib.
