I don't think I have ever met a "real" libertarian.  I have met a bunch of ppl that don't think the government should have anything to do with anything other than regulating abortion, gay marriage, and all the normal Jesus hypocrisy stuff. 

I think most that I have met are just assholes.

It's because very few exist and you're absolutely right, most "libertarians" are libertarians until *pick and pet peeve of theirs they want to control/regulate contra their steadfast beliefs in small gubment* which of course goes way beyond the constitutional things they are ok with.

I generally see it in your way with the religious right person, or honestly more with a weird free market person, as long as that free market doesn't eff them over/keeps job local because immigration and no tariffs are not the free market they want. Cause competitive advantage is what again?

They basically want capitalism in one country (the US).

So with that as the backdrop I do find libertarians selfish and hypocritica,l but 50 times more tolerable than the current state of the republican party.

Yeah, I agree with this a 1000%. They are definitely hypocritical, but usually they are consistent hypocrites. Good ones tend to realize their hypocrisy too and just want things a certain way just cause, but they generally don't slip from one crazy thing to another. I just find they fascinating because of what I/cns said, they are usually so "keep the gubment out of something" and then find like a small laundry list of things they absolutely want the gubment to do beyond the general framework of what they think the constitution allows to people. It's definitely not an ideology to me, it's a "me-ology" of wanting people to not mess with them, until they need to mess with someone.
