Democrats cannot run the risk of Kavanaugh being named to SCOTUS.
Why? Power and the loss of an important tool to institute Democrat ideology, use of the courts to do so.
Example. The court is considering a case in which the term "sex" in the Civil Rights Act includes sexual orientation. A conservative constructionist judge would say no; Congress meant biological alignments, and the judge would say pass a law to change the act it is not the courts role tof make laws. Leftoes say court has to roll with the times, and a activist judge will make new law. So democrats file a suit to change laws and let the courts do their bidding. Kavanaugh will steer the court to conservative constructionism, and the Democrats will be forced to legislate.
