Wasn’t sure what the actual testimony was. Could be a case of semantics if he found out about the allegations because a reporter contacted him or his friends in connection with their story, but that doesn’t seem like the most likely explanation at this point.

Yeah seems like that pretty much nails it down unless you take a hypertechnical definition of “matching the description,” but that would be almost as dumb as trying to convict someone for misusing a word like refute.
