All normal - sane people should celebrate that a  #blueanon insane Uber whack job has been exited out of Congress.

bowman didn't lose to torres (and torres isn't identical to bowman on policy).

Sheesh, of course Latimer, that's a stupid mistake. Where do Bowman, Latimer, and Torres for that matter differ on policy, particularly as it relates to the party platform? There's certainly a difference in rhetoric, but actual policy positions and voting record?

torres and bowman are on opposite ends of the israel/palestinian axis and to some extent that extends to how they treat american jews.  they're both very progressive on most domestic issues, so as you say, different rhetoric but pretty similar votes.

latimer has only served in local govt, so there's no record as to how he would vote on natl issues.  he was widely viewed as a moderate, but of course one of the dirty little secrets about current american politics is that there's very little difference among members of the same party.  i'm sure he'll be a loyal dem vote.

How can they both be on the opposite ends of the spectrum when both believe their should be a two state solution? They both want the conflict to end. The difference is solely rhetoric

The far left he's talking about here aren't anyone in Congress. I hope you aren't suggesting that Bowman has denied Israel's right to exist.

I hope you aren't suggesting that Bowman has denied Israel's right to exist.

he voted yes on a resolution affirming israel's right to exist, so i suppose we have to take him at his word - despite his other rhetoric in praise of people that have called for the destruction of israel and the massacre of israelis.

here's bowman's voting record on everything touching upon israel.  i didn't find anything so concise for torres, but he obviously voted yes on all the defense appropriations for israel and the anti-semitism bill was one he wrote.  he's widely considered one of the most pro-israel dems in congress.  i think it's fair to say they have different voting records on israel.

btwn ucla getting slapped down for not preventing protests from attacking jewish students and columbia ousting a trio of deans for anti-jewish comments and now their president stepping down, it feels a bit like there might be a return of at least an incentive towards sanity on campuses.
