2018 Spring football
« on: March 27, 2018, 11:05:44 AM »
Spring football is just about to start up. What are you most hopeful for as far as player progression?

Current starter who I think can progress the most- Denzel Goolsby. Still learning the position, I like what he brings I just wish he could be more of a tackler instead of just going for the ankles.

Non starter I hope can win a starting job- Da'Quan Patton. This guy has all the makings of either a Marvin Simmons/Smoke Patterson/Dvonta Derricott Or as Sean compared him to last year Arthur Brown/Percell Gaskins.

Position group I am worried about- Wide Receiver. I think we have some skilled guys with Zuber, Gruntley, Rueter and Harris. But do we have a #1 guy who we can count on? I think C Bass is a year or 2 away still.

Guy that I have no idea why I am high on, but I am- AJ Parker. He really didn't play that well last year when he can in as a starter, but he showed some flashes of greatness that I hope he can build on.

#3 on defense.  I always wanted him to play more but he didn't.  I think he will be good this year.

Looking forward to Delton proving he is much better than Skyler (but thank you Skyler for the winning TD pass against Iowa State).
Luke's stock is rising as Winters continues to validate his greatness. Add Luke and Winters to my list! Also, EMAWBLAST! and Tobias!

Get lost Luke!  Skyler is going to be the starter and tear up the Big 12 this year.

I'm excited for both Skyler and Delton. Both bring their own brand of spark to the offense and their own weaknesses. I loved how Skyler played in crunch times last year (TT and ISU stick out) but I love the mobility and speed of Delton, and of course he was the game changer vs. UCLA. Skyler is the opposite of whatever speed and mobility is, at least relative to who we are used to. Waters was a much better runner than Skyler and that's not even up to debate. That being said, we shouldn't be running either of them into the ground like we have been.

I would hope that is a point of emphasis since Dana ”Top 5 playcaller” Dimel is no longer here.

New spring roster is up. Isaiah Harris received a medical hardship and is now listed as a redshirt sophomore. Tom Hayes is still on the staff as defensive quality control. EJ Thomas and Wayne Jones graduated early and are on the roster along with Daniel Green, Sammy Wheeler and Aidan Mills.

How contrarian of you. Tell me how good then Skyler is at finding a pylon, first down marker, or lowering is soon to be shredded shoulder. At least Waters didn't lay down like a cowering dog 2 yards short of the first down like all the goddamn time.

I agree, the homie  cfbandyman forgot about the fainting goat. Not Jake's fault though, he shouldn't have been running as much as he did.

Skylar averages more yards per carry.  Skylar is also faster.

Do you think the coaching staff was telling their 3rd string and only healthy QB to lower his shoulder and take shots? Delton is a much better runner than either of them but Skylar is already better than Waters and will only improve.

At the end of the vid Bill looks like an old man who should be walking from his bungalow to game night at his Florida retirement community.
