I'm just glad the small government party is only dealing with the important stuff like 2 words that 3% of university employees put in their email signature.

Why not get rid of something already built that is helpful to people when you can make them go to a corporation that makes doing said thing harder and that will try and make you pay for something that is free?

Getting rid of free Direct File is dumb and can only be viewed as a handout to corporations involved in tax preparation.

It's rough ridin' stupid and Billy Long is a total dipshit. I can't believe that rough ridin' fraudster got confirmed as IRS Commissioner.

Wouldn’t it be nice if Christians could just live their rough ridin' lives without trying to
make us all live according to their bullshit. Hateful fucks.  How hypocritical it is that Davis is using a case for religious freedom to try to force religious beliefs on the rest of us.

Because we don't get our way on everything we are a worse country - and we'll keep on saying that over and over again while living at the absolute pinnacle of first world problems (#blueanon and #blueanongE)

gay marriage not being universally allowed in this country inarguably would make this country an objectively worse country. Go eff yourself Dax.

dax, human adults should be able to marry whatever other human adult wants to be married to them. If you think it's okay to take that right away from other adults, then I think you should be kicked off this rough ridin' board.

I agree gay marriage should be legal. I also think there’s a decent argument the Supreme Court overstepped in declaring it to be so.

That said, even hardcore conservatives on SCOTUS have to believe that the juice of forcing the issue back on states isn’t worth the squeeze of appearing to be a partisan pendulum that swings based solely on the party in power.

The net neutrality stuff bothered me more than laws requiring age verification for adult content. I don’t really see that as a free speech issue.

I've been seeing a lot of tweets about age verification in the UK and it seems to be a very slippery slope aimed at governments and large corporations having more control over the Internet and track users in general. Also given data leaks that every corporation has I would have reservations.

If goEMAW asks me to upload my ID i'm out!  :curse: :curse: Also, that is true for any non financial related website. I'll just wait for the new internet. As noted a bazillion times, these "save the kids laws" are never about saving kids.

I understand the concerns attached to it, but fundamentally if you’re ok with requiring an ID to buy a Playboy at the bookstore, I think it’s reasonable to require it for accessing the same content online.

Of course I also understand it’s a lot harder to do online in a way that is both effective and secure, but we should be focusing on improving that process rather than act like moderating access is the problem.

yeah, no thanks. A)it will never be secure B) they don't give a crap about the porn, that will just be used if needed. They want all of your data, especially social media.

Do you think access to guns should have no age checks online?

I mean I don't think people should be able to buy guns online period. I do know that as soon as this started in the UK, Spotify and portions of Wikipedia and Reddit were requiring age verification. Granted the UK applied to "harmful" content but I'm pretty sure we know where this would go if Republicans had control of something like this.

This is a good read:

Age verification for porn sites is good in and of itself.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

For the performers, absolutely. But nic I’ve got some bad news. Kids are going to see teh pr0n. They just are and there is no safe guard that will mitigate it in any meaningful way. (This is not a new development. It’s literally always been this way)

75% of kids look at porn. But give us all your personal information and we’ll realistically get that down to…72%

Also, invalid comparison. Nobody is going to die because someone didn’t exercise good porn safety
