this is just a foretaste of the feast to come. the floor on this next recession will be LOW. lower than 2007.

In a world where we still deal with geo-strategic and political decisions that were in some cases made decades and centuries ago, there's still special kind of idiots who think the past doesn't matter, of those special kinds of idiots, one in particular stands out:  The Big Dummy

The economy was going to grow into perpetuity and markets never go down, so this is all very disappointing.

the new normal?

The new normal was overwrought exuberance over 2% growth (if that), 7.5% unemployment and #learntocode

On one side you've got the doom and gloomers who in some cases hate Trump so much they're cheering for a deep recession, and on the other side you've got people like Yellin who think the economy has enough momentum to avoid a recession.

China is playing hardball because they think the U.S. is behind all the upheaval in HK (they're correct) and they've got to project strength in spite of the fact that there's alarm bells all over their economy, from bank failures to plummeting factory orders.

To think it could be reversed by coming back to the table, reducing or eliminating tariffs, stop state sponsorship of intellectual property theft etc. etc.   But that's not what China is, it's a corrupt authoritarian regime that built its economy on near slave labor, currency manipulation and corporate theft.    Sadly aided and abetted by a laundry list of American companies.   China is also a massive polluter who is escalating its emissions, building hundreds of new coal fired power plants and turning a blind eye to the reintroduction of chlorofluorocarbons into the production process in some provinces so as to increase efficiencies.

Trump literally just did that ace.

I am curious as well.  Who is saying this and what do they have to back it up.  2007 was pretty rough ridin' bad dude. It would take some serious eff ups to get there.

It seems like just having trump and his band of 5th stringers try to manage a recession means it has the potential to be the worst ever

The biggest fuckup has already happened. Boris Johnson (lol) has until the end of october to negotiate a deal. He won't, and when Britain goes in dry, that's going to be the first domino to fall.

We don't like a publication because they have a certain political slant we don't like . . . so nothing they say can be true or accurate (LibDerp Nation)
