So, this just made HTPCs obsolete, right?

Man, I'm pretty paranoid about google since reading this article a few days ago.

Besides phone integration, it sounds just like Boxee.

My HTPC will always stay current though. When Hulu decides to cancel support for GoogleTV like it has about 3 other set top boxes, then you're boned.

Yeah, I understand your anger.  It sucks.  It's like buying a Corvette and then the 7000% better and much cheaper Corvette 2 gets introduced.  Let it out.  I'm here man.

Doesn't look terribly innovative, but does look dumbed down enough for the "average steve dave"  :dunno:
Where did you get that overnight bag?

I'm wary of google, in a pissclams sodium sort of way.  Seems like they are widening their grasp over technology a tad too much.

Not scary, just remember how Microsoft was in the 90's. It became a pain in the ass to manage their technology.  They weren't especially good at one thing, just had their hands in lots of different things.

Hasn't Google pretty much been the opposite of Microsoft in terms of their stuff not being a pain in the ass?

The obsession with KU football is at an all-time high.  I guess that's what happens when your football program goes to one bowl in six years.

Seems like you're getting awfully defensive over nothing.  All I did was post an article that put a different perspective on the Big 10 expansion.  Sorry if it gets your panties in a wad that KU is a national power, while K-State is not.

Man, I love projecting emotions/actions onto other people!

Besides, here is Googletv 1.0 http://www.boxee.tv/

You could probably still sell your HTPC to someone who has been out of the country for the last couple days and hasn't heard about Google TV yet :dunno:

Just talked to my 80 year old grandfather and he said he's ditching his dusty old HTPC and getting Google TV.  I would shoot for maybe a really young kid to unload yours to as the old people market seems to be onto the scent.

Just saw the neighbor kid running over his HTPC in the driveway with his Big Wheel, looks like the little kid market is done.

Do cavemen have a need for awesome features for unlimited internet connectivity to their tv? If so, I may.
