If I ever do it I’ll just borderline OD on Xanax ahead of time. Solved problem 2.

This is the way to go.  The place I did it at 11 years ago also gave you valium on the way out!  The first night kinda sucks... have to wear eye patches and it just constantly feels like you have something in your eye.  I am still seeing 20/20 from it though.  Totally worth it!

If my vision change slows to negligible, I'll get the surgery. If I did it now, I'd need the surgery again in a few years.

Yeah, they gave me a Valium when I first got there and even then I was freaking out. I wasn't ready for the burning smell of my eyeballs getting zapped.

Post op was a breeze, went home, took a nap then woke up and could see pretty good. Was almost 100 percent by the next morning.

My shoulder replacement was same day.  In at 6 am, recovery nurse was shaking me at 1 pm... time to wake up Mr Tom!  Let's set up and get you dressed.  Rolled me to the car, watch that sling, car door slams.  Good luck!

I think in many, many cases it's better for recovery to get back to moving around again sooner rather than later.

Shingles is bad, "rough ridin' shingles" is in another category.  Hint, don't tell the wife about the rough ridin' part.  :D

I felt an overwhelming urge to explain to the pharmacist that my valtrex prescription was NOT for genital herpes, but ultimately restrained. Hopefully the flaming rash on my forehead told my story for me.

A coworker who was in her late 50s about 20 years ago had shingles and she was riding with me to a work site in the country.  Said she got it because she had measles as a kid.  She wouldn't stop talking about how much it hurt.  When we got to the site, she dropped her drawers and showed it to me.  It was on the side of her butt check and I don't think I'll ever get that vision out of my mind.  It was ferking ugly and I'm not just talking about the red scaby patch.  It scared me enough to get a preventive shot to keep that crap off my body.

Mrs Hamburg has had shingles twice. First time was in HS & more rash/skin pain thing. Second time she was 25. It started up on a Saturday & I was 4 hours away in Manhattan at a football game. It was deeper in her side & she couldn’t get off the couch. She had to have a friend come lift her off. It didn’t show a rash. We went to multiple doctors & she did PT for a month trying to get the pain to go away. They sent her to a specialist (I can’t remember what kind). After 15 minutes of him being puzzled & looking down at the chart he said “this is a random question, but you haven’t had shingles have you?” She said yes. He just sighed & closed her chart. She had a shingles relapse.

If I ever get shingles it’s just gonna be another Tuesday. My HS is basically shingles but chronic and it could always come back with a vengeance if my meds quit working.

I hope that shot I got several years back still works.  I'm hearing that there is a new shot for it, but I'm torn as to whether I'm going to get it.

Combs did a solid job with it tbh. Kinda ballsy
i still struggle to come to terms with him covering this song and although the original is and always will be one of my favorites of all time, I can’t come to accept that he’s covered it and turn the channel when it comes on.

for the longest time I thought that the reason I didn’t like him covering it was because of some weird resentment I felt towards combs because I felt that he was taking something personal from tracy chapman and profiting from it.

this is a song about a poor kid forced into being an adult long before she should have due to her dad’s alcoholism, the middle of the song speaks to her hope for better, then as the song hits its last stanza, she as an adult falls in love with a dude who himself is an alcoholic and she’s forced to tell him to take the car and keep on driving.

what i think i’ve come to realize is that my resentment wasn’t because combs was taking her experience, but instead mine.

pretty deep crap and GO CATS, glad I finally figured this out
