Guys on the drive home, Marc Cohn's Walking in Memphis played on the radio and got me feeling pretty jazzed about this weekend's gridiron match

I've done some significant research and I've come to the conclusion that Vanderbilt would be lucky to beat anybody but Kansas in our conference...  MAYBE Iowa State, but outside of that, it'd be tough sleddin' for this bunch.

They may be a member of SEC-SEC-SEC, but they're truly the laughingstock of said conference.

Although we'll get a dub vs "SEC competition", most will see it as just another cupcake on the K-State schedule.

How funny does this sound- "The Commodores last win vs. a ranked non-conference foe came on Nov. 9, 1946" September 16, 2017 isn't looking too good for you either.  :billdance:

My "extensive research" initially was just a casual observation based on a general knowledge of the pecking order of CFB to be honest...

But, curiosity got the best of me so I reached out to my good friend Jeff Sagarin to see how the SEC-least stacks up and where Vandy would stand in both a "Power Five" conference like the Big XII and a lower tier group like the SEC-least.

https://www.usatoday.com/sports/ncaaf/sagarin/2017/conference/

Looks like they'd be fall somewhere between Texas Tech and Iowa State, but with the "home field advantage" of Kansas.

Oh, that is called the Prism of the Unknown.  Your Kansas team doesn't know Vanderbilt...VANDERBILT.

You sound like any other cow school.  This is most depressing.  But, not really...I have beautiful Ladies to comfort me through the night.  Kansas is not known for beautiful women. Am I wrong?

The best your "school" can hope for is a close LOSS.  Not being rude, but your team is rather below us.

Most Sincerely,

A very, very successful Vanderbilt...VANDERBILT graduate that has lots, and lots, and lots of money.

'Dores get a big win
Very quietly, Vanderbilt has turned into a force. The defense has allowed just two third-down conversions in 26 attempts (7.69 percent) -- the best mark in the nation. They've allowed just two trips to the red zone in two games, and neither resulted in points -- not even a field goal. Good luck, Kansas State. Coach Derek Mason's stingy defense combined with a suddenly balanced offense under quarterback Kyle Shurmur (seven touchdowns, zero interceptions) makes the Commodores the easy play to not only cover, but win comfortably. Pick: Commodores (+4)

Why does this person capitalize "Ladies." Is that some male companion's stripper name or something?

Cats 55 Vandy 17

Should see significant minutes from Thompson and McCoy in the third and fourth.

Totally plausible. These clowns have punted to Middle Tennessee, more in a quarter, than we've punted in two full games.

After Saturday, half of our victories in the last 4 games would have been against the SEC.  :Woot:

NC Dolores, promise me you'll come back here on Sunday to talk about the game and not leave like the other losers that we beat. The A&M folks were great fun until they didn't show back up after we had our way with them last year.

I have a better idea (as should be expected of a very, very successful Vanderbilt...VANDERBILT graduate that has lots, and lots, and lots of money).

Perhaps, after our tremendous victory over a barely-ranked (but rather rank) opponent, we meet in the parking lot outside of Dudley Field.  Your ilk can take turns in fisticuffs with my manservant, Andrew.  Be forewarned, he is most skilled.

My Ladies and I will observe, in comfort, while sipping Krug Clos d'Ambonnay (a favorite).  You see, I am no limousine Liberal (although I do have several limousines)--I am a staunch right-wing Conservative.

I'm not afraid to throw-down.

Most Sincerely,

A very, very successful Vanderbilt...VANDERBILT graduate that has lots, and lots, and lots of money.
