to be clear, i didn't read the link and i'm dropping this here out of laziness, not because it's a good place for it. it's really more in response to the mmt/inflation discussion from a few days back.

if dems want a euro-style social safety net, at some point they need to start being honest with themselves and their voters about how to fund it.

they must have a lot of other taxes because just looking the denmark tax brackets for 2021, a single individual making $50,000 (a little under $350,000 Krones) would be taxed at 34.8% effective tax rate. So the other taxes are doing a pretty heavy lift there

Denmark has a 25% value added tax.

1) the article talks about how Nordic state owned enterprises have created:

Electric autonomous cargo ships in Norway.
Fossil-free steel in Sweden.
Offshore wind and energy islands in Denmark.
A mines-to-battery value chain in Finland.

2) lol I misread as $500K at first.
edit: I think the PPP stuff I've read does a lot of pro-family things that would benefit many people in their 20s (although not middle class single men) and also Medicare For All by itself would be a huge benefit.

yeah, i think they have to add some carbon into the mix somehow, but it's a fraction of the amount needed to produce heat.

I think the way it works is that they just melt down scrap steel to forge new steel without having to introduce any (or very little) raw material

There were thousands of Texans who listened to the news of that shooting on their TV, on their phone, or even literally on their radio on the way to the polls and they still pulled the lever on a Democrat with an A rating for the NRA.

Dem voters aren't anymore interested in holding their elective representatives than Republican voters are.

I completley agree with you wackster, i mean how difficult can drug addiction be? People should just knock it off and stop using drugs. shame on them for having an addiction, if they O.D. then that's their own stupid fault and they had it coming.
