Make sure to get your free Spark from Flare, Phil.  Flare is a ripple backed company using smart contracts on  Ethereum.

So is there I guess for lack of a better word fear for China's rollout of blockchain currency affecting BTC? Or that's like different markets?

I don't see any fear in it.  Having the state roll out something like that would have a lot of influence but there is still an incentive to mine BTC in China.  There is a ton of mining power within China and even if the Chinese Government gave some incentive to power their network you would still have people mining BTC.  If China cuts off the miners some how(almost impossible) the operations would just shift to other countries.

Knowing the btc mechanism and intent, sounds pretty secure to me

What that article is trying to imply is we are burning way more fossil fuels to power the hashrate. Which is blatantly not true. I’ve posted articles about this before and sys has weighed in, but a vast majority is excess energy or hydroelectric power. The higher the hash rate the more secure the network is, and the higher the price goes.

Just thought the visualization of electrical energy for Bitcoin mining was interesting. I didn't know it was to that capacity. Stuff like this too.

https://www.zdnet.com/article/hackers-now-mining-cryptocurrency-by-invading-ad-networks/
Even with millions of micro energy CPUs it’s still a waste of time for mining Bitcoin(only profitable with ASICs). I’ve posted articles about this too but this article was for Monero, which changes their mining ring signatures algorithm every 6 months to prevent ASICs anyway.

If someone tried to use browsers for Bitcoin mining it would be noticible immediately. The computers would get hot, slow, and the amount of effort to infect a computer to mine .000001 BTC would not be worth a hackers time.

BTC is in a world all it’s own security wise.

Snapshot of XRP ledger coming in December for Spark. XRP should see a nice run up to that date at least.

It's a super hot topic in the crypto space right now. Decentralized Finance. They are using it as a way to borrow against your assets.

I have a small army that text me on any Bitcoin price now but this gives you a good sample of the interactions(from one of my brothers) on high/low price swings
