I must be dead inside. I visited the Grand Canyon with my wife during our Fiesta Bowl trip of 2013, and I thought it was neat, but didn’t exactly have a spiritual moment. I’m in the path today and will be jacked up for my son, but not overly excited in all honesty. Should I look into prozac?

Oh man, you and I are similar. We have friends that love to road trip and go see all of this stuff. Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, etc. All I ever think about is being in a car for like 12 hours and pulling up to Mount Rushmore, getting out, looking at it for like 30 seconds, and then getting back in the car going "well that was pretty neat". Same with a giant hole in the ground. Not my jam.

rushmore actually impressed me more than I thought it would as I'm generally the exact same. Don't really get it. Of course I did rushmore in fall of 2020 so maybe I was just wanting some sort of stimulation/travel.

Got lucky that the clouds cleared here at the house just long enough.

Same. It was touch and go for a while but delivered just in time.

Same here. Admittedly, it was a little cooler than I gave it credit for. @DBT, I think it's awesome that you are jazzed for it, and out there living your best life at all these various travels. You're my hero! Side note, I'm a dumb dumb. I was expecting it to get much darker. Anybody else? It definitely made me appreciate how dang powerful the sun's light is.

Has to be an eclipse AND an earthquake for that. Have you ever even read the Bible?

as soon as we hit full totality, my entire neighborhood lost all gravity and an orange elephant flew by.

i’ve never been a huge eclipse guy but this one blew my mind, go cats!

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

The people who said there would be high traffic were absolutely right. 50-60% of the people got up and left in the 15 minutes after max eclipse. Bike for the win!

I was very curious about the light situation since nighttime typically includes light reflecting off the moon. Didn’t really have any particular expectations though.

Is that big yellow thing the Rapture Ladder or something?

Sweet view.  Too bad you got raptured from that skyline.  T's & T's.

Before I was raptured, it is/was (I don't know?) a pedestrian bridge support.

90% eclipse was like 5000% dumber than 100%.
