In the past 2 years researchers at K-State have had two major discovery's of note, that received Top 50 innovations/inventions rankings from acclaimed research and technology journals. Going off the top of my head I recall that 1 was a bio-hazard (bio warfare/bio terrorism) suppression system, and the other was a state of the art innovation in micro radiation detection systems. But if you didn't follow that stuff closely you'd never know it. But hey, mu's got a good J-School supposedly and they they decided that their nuclear reactor was going to produce a lot of isotopes for medicine. Oh and they have a lot of different schools/colleges under the MU Columbia Umbrella . . . the funny thing is, they're so insecure they've ensured that is the case via the Missouri Board of Curators (Their Board of Regents). Not saying that's a bad thing, but I guess it just matters how it gets publicized and hyped.
I read Tigerboard and it's really nothing about what mu can bring to the table, with the exception of TV sets, and pretty much all about what the Big 10 is going to do for mu.
But hey, I wish we had more TV sets.
