Currie
« on: March 29, 2017, 12:17:22 AM »
Hilltop, you have brought up a very important matter. I'm on Twitter so I can follow K-State Athletics through coaching tweets, sports writers, etc.
I am disgusted to no end by the continual tweets of fans, and sports media, who are ridiculing John Currie and Coach Weber over Frank Martin. I, too, would like to hear the other side of the story. Frank's latest round of success, fueled by good fortune as much as anything, has brought a relentless attack upon Currie and Weber because the Martin cult is convinced Currie drove Frank out of Manhattan. I wish we could hear Currie's side of the story, but that will never happen.

Here's what I know. When it comes to John Currie vs. Frank Martin, I side with John Currie until someone can provide me with proof of John Currie having received discipline, or censure, for unprofessional conduct or rule breaking. I know that Frank Martin was disciplined by Florida's High School Athletic Association for breaking rules. I know that the DC pipeline was corrupt. We know that Beasley's mother was being paid. We know how things have turned out for Malone and Dalonte Hill. We know that there was an under the table deal struck with Ron Prince, which ended up costing Kansas State a bunch of money. All of this corrupt activity was in place before John Currie stepped foot on campus. There is something more that we all know. When Jamar Samuels (he who was part of the DC corrupt connection) was found picking up wired money, an infraction confirmed by the NCAA, Coach Martin was incensed at John Currie for suspending Jamar. If that wasn't bad enough, Martin made light of the NCAA rule on providing athletes with money. Let me continue to build my case. Just six months after Frank Martin shed tears on TV about John Currie extending his contract with a hefty raise, the man was complaining because Miami would not contact him about their coaching position. I continue. Women and children were appalled by the vulgarity being screamed loud enough on the sideline for a third of the coliseum to hear. Many complained to the AD. I have stated nothing but verifiable facts.

John Currie was hired to restore donor trust and return Kansas State Athletics to a sound financial footing. The man accomplished this feat in remarkable time. Many, of the same sports media who now ridicule John Currie, were ridiculing Kansas State's Athletic program as the Ron Prince fiasco came to light. These people make me sick to my stomach because all they care about is WINNING. If Ron Prince would have taken Kansas State to a National Championship game, very few would have cared if Prince had been promised four times as much under the table.

When I read a charge that John Currie was having players followed, I ask: Why in the hell would he not do such a thing if he suspected corruption? The man was hired to restore Kansas State Athletics to honor. Go back and read the facts I presented about Frank Martin's history, the DC Pipeline, and the Jamar Samuels situation. Then, look me straight in the eye, and ask: "Learnin, who do you think is the villain in this story? Do you think John or Frank is the villain?"

This country has knelt down to worship the beast of fame, power and money. Fake news is inhaled by the multitude when it supports our guy or gal; when it tells us what we want to hear; when our guy or gal WINS. There is little room at the inn for the John Curries of the world.....we need the elite 8...and we'll get down and dirty if that's what it takes.

Again, you write words of wisdom and I thank you. Your lines, here, are a masterpiece when it comes to this argument. They need to be repeated:

"and what I am reasonably sure of is there is more to Currie's side of the debate than has gotten out or will likely ever get out. Once they are no longer employed, the person/camp on the employee side has much more freedom to spread their version of what happened than the employer side so Martin and his supporters have been talking much more freely."

This is precisely how things are playing out. The employer (Currie) must remain silent especially since he is a man of professional integrity. He will take the continual beating and remain silent while the Martin cult will spread their version of the truth throughout the media.

Some day TuckNation will get that Jamar and Malone had a pre-existing relationship.

I just stand back and shake my head at people who have an issue with a kid getting a little extra money from a friend.   I give zero effs about what ultimately happened to Malone.   That's immaterial.

It's tiresome reading the words of our predominately white middle to upper middle class fans.

I don't.  It reminds me that there are more of "them" who want K-State to fail.

That's why we'll always be smalltime losers... because an AD actually considered firing a guy because he used bad language on the court and people complained.

Think South Carolina gives a crap?

Two sides to every story....

I just want to win.  eff John Currie.  eff closed-minded Kansans.  The same dumbasses who are pro-Currie are the same ones who voted for Brownback.  How did I deduce that?...I dunno but it is probably true.

Well, that seems kind of hyperbolic given that we're talking about college basketball.

His deception is so skillful.  It's easy to see how the fools fall for this crap. Honestly, sometimes I envy them rather than pity them, but mostly I pity them.

I'd have loved to hear Currie's answer to the question, "Did you once tell LHC Bill Snyder as he was leaving a meeting to, 'Sit your ass down!'?"

Ask yourself this question, how is it that Jamar Samuels was literally stalked to the point where Currie was visibly excited that he caught him for what he did, or Jake and Curtis were punished for some free jeans, yet Marcus Foster and crew got away with practically murder for over a year before they finally parted ways with him?

He trippin' so much, fans gonna begin to think he done fell off!
