Two of the biggest questions after this game for me:

1) Can Ertz throw at all anymore? I'm being serious about this, he struggled with consistency last year and I could see some issues arise with this shoulder surgery/loss of arm strength.

2) Snyder wasn't on the sidelines the entire second half of the spring game.

1. His struggles with consistency had a lot more to do with adjusting to game speed. I thought that was evident given that as the year progressed he was more consistent.

2. That's not unusual. I don't know if he does it every year but he's definitely done it before.

I agree with MIR.  He got better throughout even though he dealt with the injury all year.  If anything i think the shoulder repair would improve his throwing considering it got good reviews before last year.

Agreed. His throwing issues at the beginning of last year were very Klein-esque in that he often hesitated and let his throwing windows disappear. He got a lot better about that toward the end of last year and his throwing mechanics have always looked better than Klein.

I suspect the surgery will make his arm stronger than it was for the majority of last season while his shoulder was separated.

I'm perplexed by the idea that surgery would make his arm worse.

What type of surgery on his shoulder is he having?
QBs not the same after injury, surgery http://www.espn.com/nfl/columns/story/_/columnist/pasquarelli_len/id/2176813
via @ESPN App http://es.pn/app

http://www.howardluksmd.com/orthopedic-social-media/ac-separations-when-is-surgery-necessary/

It will probably decrease his pain.. but depending on the surgery it could also have a significant impact on his ability to throw a football.

Why do a surgery if it weren't going to make it better?

I'm reading conflicting reports on the 2 QB's.

Some say Delton looked great, where others are saying Thompson is the guy/future.

Then Snyder comes out and says Thompson is clearly the #3 guy going into fall.

Awaiting the inevitable KITN

I wonder if Delton might be getting the "please don't transfer" treatment, and Thompson is getting the "don't think you are mr wonderful just yet" treatment?

I think part of it is also their approach to who the #2 is.  I think their entire motivation for #2 in 2017 is "if Ertz gets injured for a half with a 10 point lead, who gives us the best chance to kill clock and get us out with a W.  That person is getting as many reps as possible for 2017."  They think Delton's experience and ability to run makes him the best option for surviving a game in 2017.  If Ertz breaks his leg tomorrow, it might be different.

We should Delton in for a series in the second quarter of each game where he runs our qb-battering ram set, and bring Thompson in for two minute offense.  There would be many benefits to this.

I think it's hard to garner much insight in a game where plays are called from the huddle and it's two hand touch on the qb. That would seem to be bizzaro irl snyder offense.

Sorry MIR, but I am for real.

Step back from your Ertz Heisman campaign, and you'll see it makes some sense.
