Mizzou is officially in the market.

i really want chris collins

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

This hot board is sizzlin'.

Looks just like ours would/will
We'll have much lower expectations. I've already read on this board that guys like Steve Forbes and the UNC-Wilmington guy are out of our league.

I would think Cronin would want out of the AAC, not sure a job west of the Mississippi is right for him

Not sure what kind of P5 interest Cronin has seriously had while at Cincinnati, but he could've had that UNLV job if he wanted it last year. He ended up getting what he wanted out of it though -- took the trip to Vegas, got a nice extension from UC after they freaked a bit. I suppose if blue bloods come calling anyone would leave, but Cronin is a Cincinnati guy, so I think it'd take a lot to pull him away. And of course, to Missouri, is just laughable. If the AAC adds Wichita State it improves and who the hell knows, Mick may find himself coaching in the Big 12 at some point while never changing jobs.

Thing is, Cincinnati is his alma mater and a very good job. I don't think Missouri can pay him enough to make up the difference in the quality of jobs. There's a rumor that he was going to get an additional 1 million from Under Armor if he took the UNLV job because their apparel deal was ending so they wanted to use Cronin as an inducement. He rightly turned down that money, you can make the argument that Mizzou is as bad of a job, if not worse than UNLV right now.

Forbes and Keatts in respective conference title games tonight.

Neither appear to be easy games

Forbes sounds intriguing, based on who he has coached under.

Why hire him? Why not hire him? (fwiw, I think oscar is back next year)

You don't want to do that.

Forbes sounds intriguing. Why hire him? Why not hire him?

because he would be acceptably intriguing enough that i would root for kstate to win in games he coached.  because he's not brad underwood.

if he was good, he'd be kstate's find, like martin, not someone whose identity was formed elsewhere (this is pretty important to me, i understand that a lot of people could give a eff).

he has some experience in kansas and some connection to the martin era (don't recall exactly, but i remember his name, prolly saw it in tweets between him and the then staff or something).

he has a similar, though less impressive, resume as underwood's. head coach bouncing around jucos and low-majors, always successful (as far as i know), high-major assistant in good programs.

other coaches seem to like him.
