Deripaska has seen his personal wealth diminish substantially due to the sanctions. His stake in the aluminum companies has dropped to less than 50%.

FTR, Obama had his chance to slap those companies hard and bent over as usual with only tertiary hits on the periphery.   The sanctions from last year slapped Deripaska hard, ostensibly crushing his 2 decade long campaign to get brought into the US inner business circle.

Former AG and huge racial divider Eric Holder’s FBI completely bent over for Deripaska, to no ones surprise.

It's amazing you think him dropping to less then 50% ownership had to do with the effect of the sanctions and not a thinly veiled justification for dropping the sanctions.  Tell me who controls the business that took up that ownership? I wonder what Johnny Bolton has to say about it since his bud is on the board.

Lol @ednwhackadoo

First off, your guy didn’t do crap, when there was ample evidence to do so.  Not the least bit surprising in the era of The Great Bendover.

Next, people ITK (so that means the opposite of you) called what Treasury did to Deripaska the “nuclear option”.  In addition to vastly less ownership in each company, Deripaska has had little to no role in directing.  Directorship is restructured and includes American entities, all have signed off on an unprecedented level of transparency by and from the US Treasury Dept.  The direct sanctions on Deripaska remain in force.

Of course the New Red Scare brigade is going to go all New NeoCon on this because that’s what they do, when they didn’t say crap when their guy tossed  a couple of Nerf Balls in Deripaska’s general direction and called it a day. Leaving him to BAU with over a 70% controlling stake.

Well if a minority stake and no seat on the board of directors nor any position on the senior executive level is being "back in control" then  you nailed it edn-Whack-A-Doo.    Must be the corporate governance structure in Whack-A-Doo land.

"The companies have also agreed to unprecedented transparency for Treasury into their operations by undertaking extensive, ongoing auditing, certification and reporting requirements. All sanctions on Deripaska continue in force" U.S. Dept. of the Treasury

As long as it accounts for national security issues and ongoing law enforcement investigations.

Would rather it didn’t account for “national security issues.” This cop-out is far too easy to abuse.

I believe it this time since Roger Stone is a pretty big fish if the allegations are true. Don Jr. is probably the last indictment you could get.

https://www.judicialwatch.org/press-room/press-releases/judicial-watch-documents-reveal-obama-state-department-urgently-provided-classified-russiagate-documents-to-multiple-senators-immediately-ahead-of-trump-inauguration/?utm_source=t.co&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=press%20release

All of which begs a simple question.  If there was so much concern and so much intelligence gathered, how did Trump ever get sworn in?

A Commander n Chief and a DHS doing their job would have put a stop to it and would have produce said evidence to the American people.  Oh wait, wait . . . gonna play the whole "civil unrest" card etc. etc.   Just admit that it's a purposeful process to slow bleed, attempt to de- legitimatize the president elect, and permanently damage political opposition.

I'm only concerned if Trump told Vlad that he'll have more flexibility after the election.

Hopefully Don gave Vlad a nice congratulatory gift for completely owning the most expensive Intelligence-Homeland Security Complex in the world and a U.S. president for 8 years.

The real concern is (as I've already taught you dummies) is that the United States has entered into an unprecedented post first cold war confrontational stage with Russia (and China).

Of course the peaceniks now turned War Pigs only because of Trump are all mad that Trump is pulling out of the idiocy left behind by Barry in Syria and wants to extricate the U.S. from Afghanistan . . . what the peaceniks don't get (but will soon be bitching about . . . because Trump) is this re-positioning of U.S. forces and initiatives to position the U.S. military to support U.S. economic aims in geo-political/strategic hot spots.  The move towards U.S. energy dominance renders Middle East wars meaningless . . . of course cutting out the Brzezinski'an school of apolitical Neo-Cons/Libs is not going to be easy.    Energy dominance and moving countries like India further into the U.S. economic sphere of influence and bolstering our Pacific Rim allies are the way of the future and only hurts Russia (and China)
