No way they rule in favor of presidential immunity. That would give Biden free reign to go ahead and do all of the things they have told him he can't do.

Maybe I'm missing some nuance, but it blows my mind to even argue that you are immune from any prosecution for actions taken while President. I get the argument that you have to wait until the term is over to prosecute, but total immunity for anything you do while President doesn’t even make sense. It’s completely at odds with the notion that the office of president is occupied by a US civilian. Total immunity is for kings and emperors.

There's no nuance. Trump doesn't distinguish between king, dictator, or president. He is actually that simple.

hmmm... total immunity sounds like something that kings and dictators in the "banana republics" that Trump loves to shriek about get.

My understanding is that you have immunity while president but are open to penalty once out of office.

This last year has shaken my feeling of stability in our Supreme Court, though. I wouldn't put money on this outcome. I feel like it is a slam dunk, but I would think that a ruling against immunity might be the death knell for MAGA, and for sure Clarence rough ridin' Thomas knows that. Unfortunately, a ruling for immunity will probably have the same effect but on America instead of MAGA.

I don't see how they'll rule he has immunity. It's way more likely they'll not take the case up and refer it to the appeals court so they can then interpret that ruling. They'll be wrong, this is exactly the type of case that should be expedited to them. But they can hide behind it and then they get to kick the can down the road enough to have it not be an issue by election time.
