it really is an amazing thing how he can saturate the environment with scandal in a way that it forms a thin protective coating so that all news just sort of slides off uncommented upon. like if joe biden was found by a a jury to have raped a woman, that'd be a big deal. people would talk about it and you'd feel stupid if you didn't have an opinion.

I watched a clip on my phone of Oprah in 1987 covering an suburb of Atlanta called Forsyth I assume named for the man that led the us troops to massacre at wounded knee and it was a bunch of whites screaming “N—r go home!” And Oprah interviewed a guy from the “Keep Forsyth White Committee” and he called the reporters, who he felt had not given the thousands of whites gathered to protect their city from race-mixing and communism, “homosexuals and communists” who weren’t reporting the facts accurately.

I agree that Trump has this unique Mr. Burns like ability to have so many scandals the effect is as though he had none, but the bad things he represents are American as pie.
