You gotta give him credit. How many young guys -- he was like 26 or 25 when his father died -- take over these tough generals, and all of a sudden ... he goes in, he takes over, and he’s the boss. It's incredible. He wiped out the uncle, he wiped out this one, that one. I mean this guy doesn't play games. And we can't play games with him.

imagine if this had popped off a real war and then whoops our aircraft carrier wasn't actually there to deal with it.

like if it was 1817 it could happen.  maybe some ship guy read a letter wrong and then they're off to sea and it's six months before anyone hears from them again.  but this is 2017, however you imagine that the situ went down that the white house thought they told them to go to korea and the carrier thought they should just keep doing what they were doing, at some point, like about 4 hours after that, general maddog or the mcmasters guy that's a military genius has to be like, ok what's our eta on that carrier, ima check on that or, let's see if that carrier of ours is doing ok, maybe we should get them some more missiles or some crap.  and then they find out it's still in the indian ocean and they all laugh and maybe fire some guy.

I didn't read anything into the story, but I guarantee that carrier isn't out there alone. You just don't see the sub way out ahead of it, submerged.

As far as missile capabilities, any major differences between possible armaments between a sub and a destroyer? Just the amount that can be carried on board?

South Korea’s government wants to know whether Chinese President Xi Jinping gave alternative facts on the nation’s history to Donald Trump.
