He had all of halftime for the medical staff to clear him to run another play in this case. If he has a season ending injury, then our entire medical staff needs replaced.

Are shoulders as tricky as knees?

GG played with almost none of his rotator intact, allegedly.   :dunno:

I mean we are 3-3 why not just give up on Ertz and let Delton go wild.  Ertz is waaayy too injury prone to be the QB for the cats

We are 3-3 after playing two of the top three teams in the Big 12 this year. Now if we lose to UT then yes, start thinking about next season.

Safe to say that unless this is some sort of oddity injury like what happened to Henry Rowengartner Ertz will not magically be a better passer after a shoulder injury. Call me crazy though!

That is the definition of "time to start thinking about next season."

I don't think that would help his overthrows.

Not sure about being done for the year.

First injured it against FAU, reinjured against WVU and then again at OU. Sounds like this time the shot didn't get rid of enough of the pain to play through. It didn't sound incredibly serious though.

This is great news.

If it has been an ongoing thing, it might explain (1) our reluctance to call QB runs and (2) the very tentative nature in which Ertz runs.

Shoulder issues = pass issues

Runs tentatively because easily broken.

Seems like a great idea to keep him as #1.

Ertz doesn't run tentatively. He's the best running QB we've had since Ell. He's just terrible at everything else.

Why did Hubener come in and complete like his first 3 swing passes / passes in the flat when he replaced Ertz?  What happened after that?  He also ran decently.

I think he meant fastest, not best. Also I have no damn idea where this talk of running reluctance to use the QB run game and Ertz running tentatively is coming from. I mean this was in issue in the non-con but the 2.5 games of conference play has seen him rush 29 times for 148 yards and 3 touchdowns. What the hell about that is reluctant and tentative?

He's a better runner than Klein. He's just not tough enough to take as many carries as Klein did.

Ertz has been a less effective runner than Klein, Sams, and Waters.  He is better than Hubener, but I think Hubener runs the read option better.

steffy, Jake Waters averaged 2.6 yards per rush his first year as starter, Christ man. Please start using this http://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/ because clearly you have a mumped up memory.

Waters was very bad in the designed QB run game. I'll bet most of his rushing yards came from scrambles.
