it's not quite inevitable, but it's pretty likely that mexico will elect its first presidenta next year.  the top two political coalitions are both fielding female candidates.

personal note - my wife worked for sheinbaum for a few months twentyish years ago.

I took one (1) year of spanish in HS and learned how to say Donde Esta La Cerveza (sp?) and called it a semester. a guy that works for my dad told me the "la" wasn't required but I still say it.

she is very explicitly the status quo.  hand picked to be her coalition's candidate by amlo and she campaigned by mentioning (the very popular) amlo in every sentence.  in the voice over of that montage from her victory speech she unsubtly alludes to him (el principio humanista de nuestro movimiento) and in the text of the tweet she promises to continue advancing amlo's agenda (the cuarta transformacion).

slightly off topic - i recently had the opportunity to avail myself of fentanyl's pain relieving services.  don't see what the fuss is about.  morphine does a much better job.

Sys , you alright?  Normally someone has to get pretty hurt to get fentanyl.

I hope you are good.

I discovered after I went in for my hernia operation they put me under with fentanyl (presumably mixed with a cocktail of other dangerous substances) then brought me out with narcan.  I didn't get what all the fuss was about then either.  Didn't know I was the only one on this blog who has danced with the devil.

 to all my fentanyl addict homies!

PS I agree with sys that morphine kicks way more ass but the itch is kinda weird.
