that is so stupid (getting rid of mob)

Also, the family block of wood itself is kind of like "meh, whatever" but the family push non stop 24/7/365 by the AD is creeping me out. I mean they sent me a postcard with a pic of the stadium telling me this is my family. that's weird.

I've told this story before but it's combo-fan season so what the hell, let's do it again. When I was Vision Questing all alone in Montana by myself I decided to meet up with gE poster Porky Morgan at a local Missoula bar. We had never met and so neither of us knew what the other looked like. I scanned around the bar, trying to figure out which one was Porks, and then tucked near the back I saw a guy sitting at a table  by himself, staring at me. He looked me dead in the eyes, reached down, and continued staring at me stoically as he lifted up a piece of wood above his head with both hands. On that wood, he had written the word FAMILY.

Pretty much all traditions are dumb until they get accepted. I mean, I actually think RCJ is a cool chant as long as there is a "whooo" at the end. But if I heard "Rock, chalk, Jayhawk" being belted out by the nerdy geology club, I would have lolled the hell out of it.
I'm a fan of it at the end of games. More about the tone and ominous feeling it gives. Less about the words.

Okay, so you'll lean forward on the first beat. On the second beat, please lean backward (farther than normal upright position). Repeat for the remainder of the melody. If you are adjacent to another individual, encourage them to do the same as you, but on the alternate beats. Clap while making these movements!
Someday, we'll be known for what we've accomplished here. It'll be the greatest tradition in college football history.

If we're honest, we really don't have any super great traditions. I mean, we're pretty average in that department. Not as weird as the aTm/Nebraska types at least. But nothing super cool.

Right but that's the point, cool tone but if the exact same chant started today it would be laughed out of existence because the words are dumb and it was started by a sedimentary rock club. But it's established and pretty cool now. Oddly it Clemson that rough ridin' drives around the stadium because they screwed up where to build the locker rooms? Lots of college traditions are dumb

K-S-U Wildcats is kinda cool when he's like on top of the press box at the end of a really huge game, but it's def. beaten to death. I think like right before the game and only at the biggest moments. Also, old Willies used to be waaaay less predictable with the pattern of it and I thought it was kewl as a li'l tyke cuz I never knew when Willie was gonna slow it down for a UUUUUUUUUUUU. Didn't always happen on his third time through the letters.

I'd like to point out that anyone complaining the block is a huge dumbass and reject because (a) they actually have time to think about something that inane, and then decide they dont like it, (b) are upset at an inanimate object, (c) obviously dont understand they arent on the team, and (d) dont understand the clear significance of the block to the team.

Tell me it was Ironhorse.  Loved that place.
I've been there!

And you just typed out that entire post scolding people for having an opinion about a block of wood. ..

I feel like he was attacking my family and I with that post.
When one person, for whatever reason, has a chance to lead an exceptional life, he has no right to keep it to himself.
