Bill Clinton was very bad in the 1990s on lots of issues that liberals/progressives think are important.  You're never going to believe this, but the Republican party was worse on most of these issues in the eyes of those very same liberals/progressives.

I've honestly never understood why flip flopping or doing what the voters asked you to do is a bad thing.  I mean this is politics for god sakes. Clinton got his ass handed to him in 94 and decided the voters wanted him to be more socially conservative.Or in 92 people wanted law and order.  But alas everyone is a hypocrite so who cares.
