Jerry Kill is going to benefit much more from this relationship than K-State will

Yeah, this is a win for everyone.  Kill can't coach, but loves working in the college athletics world so he wants to move to an AD role.  He gets great experience, we get a well known name with connections in a required low-to-mid level job for a minimal cost.

Yeah, any time you get a chance to hire a guy who went 14-21 in a watered down Big 10, and whose greatest claim to fame is losing to Texas twice in the Citrus Bowl, you gotta jump on it. HE'S A KANSAN, OVER 50, NICE, WHITE, WHY NOT.

For a $150k/yr mid-level administration staffer, pretty much.

I'm seeing a record of 29-29 when he was an active coach. That's not that bad, considering it's Minnesota and they were just 3-9 his first year when he wasn't able to start getting our recruits yet.

He out recruited the WRSOAT at every turn.  I just think this is obviously a KS school throwing an over the hill coach a comfortable job, good money and line him up for some retirement scheme where I am sure KSU pays him a ton for the rest of his life.

MBC, my posting is often hard to parse. Not really being legit here, man. Ppl far more in the know say it's a good hire, then it's a good hire. It's not that important, anyway. I am, however, being serious that we need fewer over 50 white guys in the athletic department. It's 2016, dude, c'mon.

I am having fun thinking about how Jerry is gonna decorate his office, but it's tough.   I mean on one side I could see the argument for a real sparse set-up, and on another I can it being like going to that relatives house who has way too much stuff on the walls and shelves.

:dunno

Mitch was on with KK and said it's the third best hire at K-State since 1989.

1. Snyder
2. Huggins
3. Kill

Mitch said hiring Kill (and he wasn't assuming he would become the next coach) guarantees that K-State will remain relevant in football for the next 10-20 years (at least).
