You'd probably have to get an entry level job in an office first. That's no gimmie in itself. Then, you'd probably have to work there for at least couple of years while gaining experience. After that, you might be able to be in the running for a few highly sought after remote positions. But, of course, there's no guarantee that you could ever land one of those.

So, basically, I say go for it!

so are you calling my friend of a friend a liar because it sounds like you are? are you?

No need. Wacky already proved he lied once, so he lies all of the time as far as we know.

what did wacky prove she lied about? honestly not following.

Sorry you had to find out about your friend this way.  :frown:

I use to sale Medical Coding diplomas at BM all the time. Those peeps weren't making 50K, that's for sure. This guys lying to you, Rowdy. He's selling drugs from home.

I sold fake degrees for a living, so of course not, but I had to study a lot of these meaningless degrees and I feel like I have a pretty good pulse on it. That girl might make 50 K a year, but she's definitely an exception.

It says you make 40K working it FT? You might make 5K a year, RD. Unless you stop pulling ppl over for speeding and just work on your laptop the whole time.

Multiple Credentials Carry Weight

Salary data reveals that the more AAPC credentials you carry, the higher your salary. The average salary in 2015 of members with:
•1 credential (any credential) was $46,899
•2+ credentials (any credentials) was $58,399
•3+ credentials (any credentials) was $65,643

In other words, investing the time and education in getting more certifications can pay off in spades. Only a little more than 12 percent of our certified members hold multiple credentials currently.

Certain Credentials Carry More Weight

As shown in Graph B, the three AAPC credentials that merited the greatest salary increases in 2015 were:
•Certified Physician Practice Manager (CPPM®) – 6.7 percent. CPPMs® went from earning an average salary of $60,607 in 2014 to $64,666 in 2015.
•Certified Professional Coder (CPC®) – 2.8 percent. CPCs® went from earning an average salary of $50,030 in 2014 to $51,454 in 2015.
•Certified Outpatient Coding (COC™) – 2 percent. COCs™ went from earning an average salary of $57,680 in 2014 to $58,822 in 2015. It should be noted that this credential was formerly CPC-H®.

Ok bear with me here. What if we bought aggie station and turned that into our code pak location and then St night erii and Stevesie60 can turn that son of a bitch into a cash machine night club? Obviously we would change the name but it's like doubling our hobby profits

Just read this entire thread as I enjoyed Taco  Via at 95th and Antioch.  What a rough ridin' great day I am having.  Tip of the hat to everyone involved in this thread, and to the grumpy old lady who has worked at Taco Via for 100 years!

I think it's the other type of medical coding.  But, I don't know exactly what that is either.  I THINK it has to do with designations on procedures and supplies that drive bill rates when invoicing insurance providers, but I am probably way off on that.

It's not programming. When you utilize a health care provider, the health care provider is required to assign all procedures and diagnoses corresponding codes that are defined by the government. The medical coder looks at your medical records and decides which codes are appropriate.
