the kia/hyundai auto drive thing is goddamn addictive.  ridiculous how much time i've wasted driving my own car.

My car is 10 years old now and it has all sorts of cool auto drive stuff, I can't even imagine what it's like now.

The Ionic 5 EV (and I think the Ioniq 6) will parallel part itself for you.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

I tried to parallel park in a random ass car with collision detection and it like slammed on the brakes WAY before I could tap the bumper behind and it sucked and I hated it. It would never make it in the "big city".

What kind of “Car of Tomorrow” circa 2014 are you driving, brother?

The new Lincoln Navigator was released today. I like it. Not enough to drop $100K on one, but it is very nice.

when my third stall is no longer a batting cage I may do a mid life crisis purchase and get myself a Coach Walz scout or 80s bronco/blazer.

I had a cherry 79 blazer which my girlfriend rolled on a dirt road when I was like 16. I bounced around the top and back and ended up in the far back. pretty sweet. we had to walk about a mile to some guys house to use the land line to call my folks and tell them about it. also pretty sweet obviously. they thought I was lying about her driving it to get out of trouble (wtf, I don't drive like crap) and then got real mad at me for letting her drive (valid).

when I bought it there was already a tape deck in it (replacing the AM/FM) and I never got a CD player because it had iirc a single speaker on the dash. so my friends and I filled the 50 gallon center console with loose tapes we acquired and would play cassette tape music in it. also we'd ramp the crap out of it on intersections in town with big water drainage dip things (not sure what the name is for these, Meade KS had no underground drainage obviously) and fly over entire intersections. Got pulled over on my way home one day and asked to come back to the state trooper's sled to "have a talk" and he was cool AF and knew my family and told me word was out because of so many complaints and I better not do that anymore. Pretty nice to have the tip off obviously. We still did it also obviously, but were kinda watchful about who was around. what color was it? you guessed it, white and yellow. It had been owned by the county who bought it new and had some guy in charge of some menial task drive it around checking some nonsense. had only like 55k miles on it. We could take the back off of it and it just had a big roll bar in the far back (probably saved my life irl) and my dad would always say it would ruin the "seal" but it never did and WGAF if it did. miss the crap out of it.

Toyota’s bet on hybrid vs full EV is looking good for them. This part caught my attention:

Quote

According to an internal Toyota document shared to its U.S. dealer network that was viewed by Jalopnik, Toyota corporate body explained that its hesitation toward EVs is based on the lack of EV charging infrastructure, affordability and most importantly, a finite amount of critical resources like lithium, cobalt, nickel and graphite.

The bigwigs explained something they called the 1:6:90 rule, where considering the amount of raw materials needed for the battery in one battery-electric vehicle designed for Americans' range anxiety, six plug-in hybrid batteries could be made or 90 batteries for hybrid-electric vehicles like the Prius or Camry.

"For the same limited resources, instead of replacing one internal-combustion engine, you can replace 90," the Toyota executives said.

"The overall carbon reduction of these 90 vehicles over their lifetimes is 37 times as much as a single battery-electic vehicle."

Yeah, they’re great. Ford brought back the color/white/color paint scheme on some F150 and new Broncos. Goat truck paint scheme imo. Chevy’s color on top w a strip of accent material about a foot from the bottom and white below is also a great scheme.

Chevy brought back the Blazer as well but with much less fanfare.

The 70’s and 80’s had some fantastic truck color schemes

It’s pretty sweet that our midlife crisis sleds are going to be old SUVs and not losery Porsche convertibles and whatnot.

Nicname Jr needs a whip. Nicname needs a pick’em up truck.

Worlds collide.

Can’t be too nice, cuz he already crashed mom’s palisade once.

I told lil sd if he does well in school and his OPS stays above 1.00 I'll buy him a 90s wrangler when he's 16. neither of these things are happening but gotta dangle that carrot.
