I stayed abstinent till my Senior year (HS), because mom and dad told me I'd rot in hell if I didn't wait till marriage, and then I met the one and thought hell was worth it after that.

Those sex ed classes did nothing for me.

Even though I had to go to church 3 times a week and my mom told not to have sex I still did it. I don't remember much sex ed, but I think I would have been better prepared if they had actually had some real advice.

My girlfriends parents were the bomb. They knew what we were up to and offered her opportunities to go to the doctor to get on the pill, but she still refused, because she was too embarrassed to tell them. I totally get it, but they weren't your average parents.

Well it did for awhile. I wasn't hooking up at 15 or 16. I'd say no and stuff, because I was heavy into the church. It just took me longer to cave.

Well, if your kid's health class is currently an abstinence-only class, I would imagine the entire class would be defunded. Not sure how they are run now, but when I was in HS, that was an entire semester of one hour class three times a week. Not sure how districts bill out facilities, but at very least that would be half a teacher salary for one year. So, min $20k per high school, I would bet.

I think my "sex ed" was about 1 class period in health class where the boys and girls were separated. It was in junior high.
So, I think that probably cost about $200 because they had to find an extra room and teacher that day. I really don't even remember what they said.

But you'd tell them all the same scary stuff as a reason to wear a condom. All I'm hearing ITT is that Obama wants to cut teacher's salaries. That's the bigger news IMO.

I would be surprised if it was costed out at the level of how many days health class is specifically discussing sex. I would imagine that if your curriculum for health class called for abstinence only, that funding for that entire health class would be held. I may be wrong.
