I mean if you look at the list of contributors, I think it will be very interesting.

Don't agree with the premise but should be an interesting watch.

I think Christianity in America has always been more or less hyper nationalist.

Finished the first episode of this doc about "The Troubles" in Northern Ireland last night. I went into it with zero knowledge of the subject outside of listening to "Sunday, Bloody Sunday" by U2 and watching the movie Belfast. Very good so far

Same. I fell down a rabbit hole after watching this (probably for the wiki thread). Check out I, Delours, centered on the lady who help kidnap the mother of 10 and more from the republican point of view. The actual footage is from interviews she gave to a BC prof as part of a project.

Hard to believe that it could still go sideways at any time.

Been enjoying Peter Santenello's Youtube videos lately. He's done tasteful and respectful vids of himself living with Ukrainian homesteaders, as well as in-depth looks into the lives of Hasidic Jews in the US (and abroad), US gang and underculture, etc.

Here is a look into the life of a man named Titus who lives an off-grid (not in the trendy "trad" way) lifestyle in appalachian Kentucky.

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

I have seen a couple videos from him and mostly enjoy them. The villages one is surprisingly good.

I, too, have enjoyed Peter Santanello's stuff.  He must have found the key to unlocking the YouTube algos if we've all been watching him.

Kinda got burnt out on it after a while though.  They're all kinda the same story, just different people.

In the same vein, I really enjoyed watching the Vice "Abandoned" series on YouTube:

The gotti doc series on Netflix is meh. I read the gotti book many years ago and it's way better than this. 3.5/7
