It gives me some pride being a 3rd generation KSU alumni.  Knowing that my grandpa helped lay the foundation for a successful basketball history.  Having MHK and Aggieville literally in my blood.  My first baseball game was a Royals game, with my step-dad who is dead.  Sports have a special place in my heart and mind, they are a part of me.  I couldn't imagine a world without some connection to a school or team that had an impact on my life.

College and pro sports keep degenerate gamblers away from high school sports.

D) Watching someone do something you aspired to do, but can't anymore is cool. something you cannot is cool. I played baseball but can't could hit like Lorenzo Cain. Watching people do something at its highest level inspires. The talent, work, discipline needed to get there is special.

Not true. Apparently gambling on high school sports is a big thing in smaller communities.

Yeah, my mind was blown when I discovered this last fall. A friend of mine in SW Kansas casually dropped a "Oh well, at least they covered" into a conversation about their high school team losing. Apparently they use the computer rankings that the Topeka Capital-Journal or some media outlet creates to determine spreads.

If this occurs in places like SWK then you can only imagine what happens in Texas, Florida, etc.

Was it the U 30 for 30 that discussed the real Gs in South Florida and other places betting on the Youth bb and fb teams they would sponsor?

I barely watch them anymore. I'm so busy with like a kid and work and junk. It's not that I don't like them. I just don't watch them. I've seen like 45 minutes of bruceketball this season and never watched a KSU football game without about a 50% distraction level. At first I thought it was because we weren't good and I hated watching us but now I think maybe I just don't like sports. when baseball starts we'll know for sure. I'll let you guys know.

I used to watch the stupidest crap. like thursday golf. then that turned into only sunday golf. now golf isn't even on my radar. I used to watch college basketball games that I didn't even know what town the team was from. St. Marys, probably in Philadelphia or something? WhoTF knows but I'm watching them because it's good sports.

Kinda the same boat.  Part of it is every time lil dude is awake he brings me the remote and says "choo choo?" which means he wants Thomas the Train on the TV.

but yeah, I'm not really interested in any non-k-state/non-royals sports.  i'll sometimes watch the chiefs.

the is past year or so has been excellent timing to begin the "kids sports dominate every weekend" phase of my life.  It really hit home when I tried to use the WatchESPN app at my daughter's vb match for the OU football game and we were down 14-0 by the time the feed quit buffering.

I would be miserable if KSU FB and BB were as rad now as they were like 5 yrs ago.  I miss them all the time this year and I don't care that I missed them, but I care that I don't care.  Ya know?  When in reality, it really is doing me a favor that we suck balls and taint.  Who wants to watch that?

I watched a eff TON of tennis and golf when there was a newborn in the house. They sleep ALL OF THE TIME.

"Oh, I'll just hold him and rock him here in the recliner while he sleeps."

It's also because there is, generally, no hope of getting any better.  Snyder is just along for the ride, which is a slow painful death spiral.  And Weber is doing what he does, also a slow painful death spiral but sprinkled with infuriating, whiny excuses.

I watch all cats FB games, won't go out of my effort for ksu bball but I'll watch it when its on.
Royals are fun to watch but its such a long freaking season.. Usually only watch playoffs or at the K.
Chiefs (NFL lol) do not care.. Watched them in the playoffs and will watch the super bowl that's about the extent.

I don't get how some people can still watch ESPN when they just beat the ever living crap out of every small story and every show is a debate on the same issue from different people. I enjoy when games are on, sportscenter once in a while, and the 30 for 30s or OTL's but the rest is awful

I don't really care about KState sports even though I'm a student. I like to see KU do well though. Also I am a big soccer fan.
