Yeah, but that was that Lebron-influenced-team-specific.  If you can find last year's NIT thread, I think there was an exact quote we weren't supposed to have that got posted - something about how it wouldn't be worth the trouble.

I know, why would an entry fee keep us from entering? I mean we pay oscar like 2 million a year to coach, we can handle plane tickets to Vegas.

We didn't last year.  So, there's that.  Also, I would hope that we would hold ourselves above that.  Also, we are a football school now.  The excuse of doing that for the fans is a bad one as I don't think many would go.

Football schools seems to be the wheelhouse of the CBI. Oregon St., Penn St., Texas(!), CU all participated in recent years.

I think its probably 5 or 6 for P5 schools. The low and mid majors that win their regular season conferences and receive auto bids after they lose their conference tournaments fill the bottom spots. I don't know for sure, because up until the last couple years the NIT wasn't a concern of mine.
