Went to Kendrick and sza last night in Minneapolis. It was my first stadium show and the first show I've ever seen that opened a tour. US Bank Stadium is awesome, easily the nicest stadium I've ever been in. I was supposed to go to the final four there in 2019, but my last child was born that week. I'll definitely go to their next final four though.
The show was really good, sza didn't open for Kendrick, they alternated between doing their own stuff and songs they have together. Because of this set up, at least one of them was on stage for 2.5 hours without a break. There was also no set, so no set changes. Kendrick started alone, sza had a massive crowd pop when she got on stage. It's hard to tell which of them had more fans, there were a lot of young white girls there, it really did feel like a Taylor Swift concert. And the most merch were clearly sza jerseys and a lot of hilarious knockoffs. I was pretty easily the oldest person on the light rail we arrived on and I only saw one person clearly older than me, a white woman there with her son who was very loudly begging her for money. The people sitting behind us were Kendrick super fans who came to Minnesota from LA. I was pretty shocked at how many people went to the concert at our hotel, we didn't even stay downtown, and how many concert shirts I saw leaving Minneapolis today.
Anyway, really good concert even though the sound was pretty meh, guessing that's standard for stadium shows, and realizing that I really don't know many sza songs, maybe 5?
