We braved the hottest weekend for Iowa this summer at Hinterland. They oversold tickets but we had a good time. Was like a giant campout but everyone was either drunk or high with your campground being shared with 40k-ish people. The highlights include Noah Kahan, Chappell Roan, Hozier, Orville Peck, Mt. Joy, HippoCampus, Charley Crockett, Flipturn, and Red Clay Strays!Had a lot of fun but I think I may be getting old guys (weird crosspost)

I'm prob too old as well after the last couple. If they don't have a fancy VIP section where I can have some space and not have to elbow to elbow for 8 hours a day with people, i'm prob passing. The one I went to a couple of years ago in AZ had a sweet VIP deal where both stages on separate ends had VIP entrances that allowed you to be in a section closer to the stage or on giant bleachers on the side. That plus the bathrooms and access to concessions made it well worth the extra cash. Had VIP one day and GA one day and was really glad GA was the first day. It was nice just to chill the second day and not have to worry about start times and waiting for the bathroom the second day.

No drink deals or food deals. Only one stage at hinterland. There were 8 of us so we set up a bunch of blankets and took turns going up to sit in the shade tree at the top of the hill by the porta potties. This was my second music festival and Ms. GregKSU1027's first big festival that wasn't Warped Tour in KC about 10ish years ago. She doesn't do so well in the heat so she was miserable Saturday. It was crazy hot. I drank 14 of my 2.5 liter camelbaks all weekend. Was craaazy.
Charley Crockett last night. Third time, each better than the last.
blink 182 cancelled their concert tomorrow night, it would have been a fun show
If I can stay away from my sick ass kids and not get whatever they have, I'm going to Red Rocks this week for the first time ever. Super excited. Any pro tips? Staying in Golden.

Staying in Golden.Go in as early as allowed, walk around a bit and get your photoshoots in to document you were there so you don't have to think about anything else besides the music and setting later. Go back out to the parking lot to get your mind right (however you want to partake) for the spiritual journey that is a concert there. When you go back in, be ready to simply take it all in
The sound sucks higher than like row 40 or whatever so I've found it's worth it to tailgate in line for a while to get a decent spot inside
Hembree (+ kat king) at percheron last night was real nice

Going to Green Day next week and they are together pretty much every where else, but they split for the KC stop for some reason. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Report back on Isbell, Greg. Saw him last month. Maybe I just don’t know/like his new stuff as well, but it was disappointing. Didn’t play a lot of what I would have guessed were crowd favorites from earlier albums.
