Report back on Isbell, Greg.  Saw him last month.  Maybe I just don’t know/like his new stuff as well, but it was disappointing.  Didn’t play a lot of what I would have guessed were crowd favorites from earlier albums.

I've seen him live a handful of times and I think he's wonderful. The last time was at the Stiefel (couldn't believe it) and I had too many peds and forgot I had to go upstairs to go the bathroom and when I was coming back down the stairs they looked like spaghetti moving everywhere and I had to sit down for a bit, on the top stair,  and decide if I was content just staying right there forever or braving the journey to find my way back to my wife.

Isbell was great, no offense but he should have be Charles Wesley Godwin. Some of his songs are quite slow in comparison to CWG who had went on before him.

Isbell got divorced which might change the vibe a bit? I saw him last summer and it felt like he was really angry compared to past shows. Great, but a lot angrier.

I remember he and Shires had a couple shows scheduled, that they still did together, after their divorce was announced and the vibe was definitley off. Like the 400 unit played their set and he didn't mention it but she made a joke or two about it in her set and it was just weird.

First Red Rocks trip was a resounding success. Amazing place. We may make it an annual trek. Really enjoyed the whole Golden area for the most part. Lots of good breweries and little pubs. Show was great. The Revivalists headlined and they were great. I've seen them a few times and they have always been solid. Spoon rough ridin' ruled though. That was the first time i've seen them and they were just fantastic live. Played a nice mix of old and new stuff and it was just awesome. Highly recommend.

hard to believe that descendants are still alive.  i used to see them playing the outhouse in lawrentucky around the time you were born, not even being hyperbolic.

Well buzzcocks are more of a buzzcocks cover band at this point, but descendents completely rip. I don't know how milo can still sing night in night out at his age, but man. They are so fun. And also like a ton of 20 something kids there singing along and moshing and crowd surfing. I kind of expected to be the youngest one there but nope not at all. And they did mention being at the outhouse 30 years ago ("the bathroom toilet seats had a permanent glisten"). Closed with good good things. 7/7

not a concert but I saw Nardwuar speak in person last week. so inspirational!







also saw the cactus blossoms. I really wanted to see the opener Erin Rae but a lot of NYC clubs do an early show and a late show and the early shows start very much on time and I missed all of her set.



still a great show but since it was so early I followed it up with a meal at the best restaurant in the world (@8manpick knows the deal)
