I saw Vampire Weekend at ACL moons ago at ACL expecting to roll my eyes a lot, but I ended up becoming a huge fan of theirs.

Vampire Weekend Review. This was the first concert where I absolutely loved the main set and it blew away my expectations, but had it absolutely ruined by the encore. I like the band enough, but I didn't really have high expectations, but they were legit great live. Really good show....then the encore. I heard they were letting people pick random songs, but didn't think much of it and thought it could be fun. They spent like 15 minutes playing shitty Karaoke songs like Brown Eyed Girl, Sweet Caroline, etc. It just took away from the show completely and was really bizarre. They finally stopped karaoke and ended with 2 songs I wasn't very familiar with while not playing Step or Unbeliever. I'd def recommend seeing them live and I'd prob go again, but I'd honestly just leave after the main set next time. Very strange experience.

Looking at the setlist, it looks like they played 13 songs in the encore, including 11 covers. That's outrageous.

They were also just bits and pieces of the covers. I'm glad they weren't full because they were all shitty songs, but it was just all around weird.

I ended up going to see the Rolling Stones on Sunday night. I'm kind of annoyed they went all the way down by Branson instead of coming to Kansas City but whatever. I have to say, Mick has still got it. I would have loved to see prime 70's cocaine Mick Jagger. Overall the set list was good but they should have figured out how to fit Beast of Burden or Wild Horses (or both) in there somehow. The concert was opened by KC's very own Samantha Fish

i like jewel. she was a big staple in my house growing up because my sisters were enormous jewel heads. i remember they bought copies of her poetry book lol.

We braved the hottest weekend for Iowa this summer at Hinterland. They oversold tickets but we had a good time. Was like a giant campout but everyone was either drunk or high with your campground being shared with 40k-ish people. The highlights include Noah Kahan, Chappell Roan, Hozier, Orville Peck, Mt. Joy, HippoCampus, Charley Crockett, Flipturn, and Red Clay Strays!

Had a lot of fun but I think I may be getting old guys (weird crosspost)
